An Oregon man has been arrested for allegedly trying to carjack a pregnant woman at a car wash on Jan. 4. Fortunately, another woman who was nearby at the time was able to distract him from the pregnant woman and fight him off until police arrived.

The attempted carjacking took place at the Eco Car Wash in Portland.

The pregnant 25-year-old woman, who asked not to be identified, was vacuuming her car at the car wash with her 2-year-old in the backseat when the accused, Marvin Walker Jr., jumped in the driver's seat of the vehicle.

The look on Walker’s face terrified the woman.

"Like he was mad, he wanted to kill somebody," the woman told FOX 29. "I thought he was going to take me and my kids' life."

The woman ran from the car with her son, but Walker allegedly followed them.

"He said, 'Hey come back here,' and so I just kept running and then some other girl was there," the woman said.

Police say the other woman yelled after Walker in an attempt to stop him. That is when he turned his attention to her and reportedly pushed her up against the car, demanded she give him her keys and threatened to stab her.

The woman fought Walker off and no injuries occurred.

"It was a blessing actually, if she wasn't there, I don't know what could have happened," the woman said. "I hope he goes away for a long time. We don't need any more people like that on the streets."

Crime Feed reports drugs and alcohol may have been a factor in Walker’s attempted carjacking as he admitted to police he had used meth just two hours before the incident. Police say he was also intoxicated from alcohol.

Walker faces charges of robbery and coercion.
