A Chinese man in Yulin, Guangxi, allegedly stole more than 2,000 pairs of women's underwear and bras.

The lingerie was reportedly stolen from women in the man's neighborhood, which got a full view of the underthings, which were laid outside by police on Saturday.

According to the South China Morning Post, the man allegedly hid the undergarments above several ceilings in stairwells at the building where he lives.

However, one of the ceilings gave way and dropped down a load of bras and panties.

The police searched the stairwell ceilings and layed the lingerie outside on the yard in order to count the garments.

There have been several panty thieves caught in China this year. One man was arrested in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, for allegedly stealing 17 pairs of panties in one day, while another man in Hubei reportedly stole stole two pairs of women’s underwear and wore one of the items.

In 2012, a man in Bangkok, Thailand, admitted to stealing over 5,000 pairs of panties when his home was searched in connection to a $325,000 jewelry robbery. The 48-year-old man said he began stealing the panties at age 18, noted AFP.
