Melchisedec “Maya” Williams, who is legally blind, reportedly shot his teen nephew this morning at 2:00 a.m. in Tampa, Fla.
The unidentified 15-year-old nephew allegedly turned off the power to Williams' home, broke in via a window and grabbed two knives from the kitchen.
Williams claims that he heard some noise, thought someone was breaking in and fired his gun (video below).
"I couldn't see anything, I just heard a lot of crashing, so when I came out to investigate, I saw a light coming towards me, and then that's when I had my gun and I shot,” Williams told My Fox Tampa Bay. “I guess he was coming to do me bodily harm."
