Teacher Punches Student Because She Was 'Tired Of Him'

| by Brendan Kelly

A Houston teacher has been fired after she allegedly punched a second-grader "with a closed fist" because she was "tired of him."

Lisa Allison, 48, has been charged with injury to a child after she was accused of hitting a kid at Landis Elementary School, KTRK reports.

According to court documents, Allison asked the student to leave the classroom because he was being too noisy in class. The teacher told school police that the student was kicking lockers in the hallway after he left the classroom, so she escorted him to the office.

School surveillance footage reportedly shows the two struggling before Allison punches the second-grader in the face.

The student told police that the teacher told him, "I"m tired of you."

He says that Allison grabbed him, punched him, pushed him to the ground and sat on him in the hallway. School administrators then came out into the hallway and told Allison to get off the boy.

According to the Alief Independent School District, Allison was "immediately placed on leave when allegations were brought to the attention of campus and district administrators and will not return."

District parents reacted to the allegations while picking up their children from the elementary school.

"That's crazy, I don't think they should be doing anything like that, if it did happen," parent Mito Garcia told KHOU.

"I mean, if you're a teacher, you go to school for this," Diana Rodriguez said. "To be able to know you have to have patience."

According to KHOU, Allison is not currently in custody, but charges against her were filed on Oct. 31.
