| by Lisa Fogarty

A man from Marion, Illinois, reportedly shot his middle school teacher wife dead Friday night before taking his own life. One of their three sons was reportedly home at the time of the incident.

Amy Smith Blaise, 43, was reportedly found dead from a single gunshot wound. Her death was ruled a homicide, reports KFVS, and police say her husband Daniel Blaise, 42, was the one who reportedly fired multiple rounds before killing both his wife and himself.

The couple had three children and one of their sons was reportedly inside of their residence at the time of the incident. He was not physically injured, according to police.

The autopsy reports have been conducted, but an investigation continues to take place.

Amy Smith Blaise had reportedly completed her teaching training in 2013 and was employed at a local school, reports the Daily Mail.
