A Morgan Township, Indiana, couple was found dead at their home Saturday after an apparent murder-suicide.

Glenn Ballor, 38, shot his wife, Brianna Ballor, 31, with a shotgun before killing himself, according to police. The couple’s 2-year-old daughter was home at the time, but was not physically harmed in the incident.

The pair had been married for three years but were in the process of getting a divorce, Brianna’s mother told the press. They met when they were part of the same wedding party. Brianna worked at the Porter County juvenile detention center and enjoyed running in her spare time.

“She was really working hard at being a good mother,” Beth Hefner told nwi.com. Hefner had found the bodies of her daughter and son-in-law next to each other in their bedroom. She added that her daughter was a kind woman.

Hefner explained that when she arrived at the house, she found the 2-year-old seated on the sofa, and then heard a gun shot. After discovering the bodies in a pool of blood, she immediately called the police. The police responded to the call at roughly 11:52 p.m. on Saturday.

While Glenn had a criminal record, police stated that they had never previously been called in connection with domestic violence involving him.

According to Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris, there was evidence of a physical struggle before Brianna was shot. He added that investigations would be undertaken to determine whether alcohol or drugs had played a role in the incident.

Hefner said that earlier on Saturday evening, she got a call from Brianna.

“She said 'mom', and then she was screaming and it went click,” Hefner told the Chicago Tribune.

Glenn then called and asked Hefner to come and pick up her granddaughter.

Police sources said that the 2-year-old is being cared for by a relative.
