A Texas man was arrested and charged with child trafficking and prostitution after allegedly trying to sell sex with a 4-year-old girl through Craigslist.

Andrew Turley, 28, of Houston, reportedly placed an advertisement under the "Casual Encounters" section of Craigslist offering a sexual encounter with "daddy's little girl" for money, Click2Houston reports.

Undercover officers in the Houston Police Department were scrolling through the site when they discovered the ad.

They made contact with Turley to express their interest. Turley then allegedly exchanged more than 60 email messages with them regarding the offer, according to Jeff McShan, a public information officer in the Harris County district attorney's office.

Turley reportedly sold the police officers two hours with the girl for $1,000, and arranged a time and location for them to meet.

When police arrived at the agreed-upon location on Nov. 12, they found Turley with the child under a blanket. The little girl was completely undressed and appeared to have been sedated with a drug.

Turley was arrested and charged with one count of trafficking a child and one count of prostitution of a minor. Courtroom onlookers reportedly gasped in shock as prosecutors described the allegations against him at a court meeting on Nov. 16, ABC 13 reported.

Turley is currently being held in Harris County detention on a $1 million bond. The judge presiding over the hearing has ordered him not to make any contact with the young victim, her mother or any other children in the event that he is released on bail pending trial. He is also prohibited from using the Internet.

If convicted, he could face from five to 99 years in prison for each count.

It is not clear whether Turley had a relationship with the child's mother, but it did not appear the mother knew what was happening to her daughter.

Prosecutors said Turley's actions make him a serious risk to the community.

"These are cases Harris County takes very seriously," Ann Johnson, the assistant district attorney on the case, told Click2Houston. "Obviously we think this is a very important matter and why the case is set so high and why the bond is set so high on this defendant."
