Montia Parker, a Hopkins High School senior and cheerleader in Maple Grove, Minn., was recently arrested for allegedly pimping a sophomore teammate as a prostitute.
Parker was charged with one count of second-degree felony sex trafficking as well as one count of felony solicitation, inducement and promotion of prostitution.
The senior reportedly advertised the sexual services of her classmate on Backpage.com. Parker allegedly took the girl out of school, drove her to locations for prostitution and collected all the money the girl made performing sexual acts.
The young victim was hoping to make some extra money. Parker asked her if she would be willing to have sex for money, reports CBS Minnesota. In response, the underage victim agreed to give men oral sex.
The victim’s mother discovered that her daughter had an unexcused absence from school, looked on her daughter’s cell phone, found text messages from Parker about prostitution and called the police.
Hopkins High School administrators expelled Parker immediately after learning about the arrest. Her last day of school would have been tomorrow, reports the Associated Press.
"In responding to this incident, we followed our discipline and safety policy, which includes permanently removing a student from campus," said the school district in a statement.
