Jeffrey Sirois, the coach of the girls soccer team at E.O. Smith High School in Storrs, Conn., reportedly sent a 10-second video of himself engaging in masturbation to members of the team.
The Hartford Courant reports that Sirois told Connecticut State Troopers that he meant to send the video to his girlfriend, but accidentally sent it to the players via Snapchat, a cell phone app for sharing photos and videos.
According to court papers, Sirois showed law enforcement where he recorded himself inside his house and gave them access to his cell phone, which contained the video.
Several teens told police they were at a pizza restaurant when one team member showed them the video that came in via her Snapchat (video below).
The offended teen quickly shared it with other students.
"Once I realized what I was watching I threw my phone down on the table and said, 'Guys, you have to look at this,'" stated the student, say court papers.
"We were all shocked by what we saw in the video and were talking about it," said another student.
The teens informed the varsity girls volleyball coach who notified school athletic director Stephen Robichaud who told Sirois not to come to school or have contact with team members.
"I had asked Jeff, do you need to tell me anything," Robichaud told police. "Jeff stated, 'I would have never sent anything like that intentionally and it's been deleted.'"
Sirois has been charged with obscenity, risk of injury to a minor and breach of peace. Sirois, who is married, was fired from his coaching job, reports WTNH.
“This individual, who exclusively held the position of the girls varsity soccer coach at E.O. Smith High School and was never in a classroom environment, has been terminated from his position as varsity coach,” said the Storrs Board of Education, noted WFSB.
