Georgia Drunk Driver Hits Police Car, Hands Cop A Beer
A Georgia man who struck a police car early Saturday was confused when the officer approached his window.
Damon Tobias Exum, 37, of Dunwoody, allegedly handed Officer Alvin Rodriguez a beer when he asked for his driver’s license.
Rodriguez, who was not injured in the crash, followed Exum onto the highway and eventually got him to pull over, police spokesman Sgt. Fidel Espinoza told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Exum, who was “heavily intoxicated,” claimed he had no idea he hit the car.
He was charged with eight misdemeanor counts and was transported to Dekalb County Jail, where he is being held $3,270 bail.
According to police, this is Exum’s third DUI arrest.
