A Florida woman allegedly set fire to a man’s car Sunday because he refused to buy her a McDonald’s McFlurry, witnesses said.
Witnesses in Jacksonville claim the woman was angry when she grabbed the man's keys and headed to his 1994 El Dorado.
"Next thing you know, she says 'I'm going to blow it up,' and we were wondering what are you going to blow up?" witness Sabryna Maré told Action News Jax.
“They were going at it,” Maré said. "She was saying she wanted this and wanted that, and she wanted either a McFlurry or an ice cream on top and he was not in for it. Then he was yelling at her saying he's not going to do it."
"She got something out of the car that happened to be a bottle and then she got gasoline from who knows where,” Maré added. “Then she poured everything all over it and next thing you know there was a match and it was up in flames."
The woman allegedly fled the scene.
Maré said witnesses tried to help the man put out the fire to no avail. By the time the fire department arrived, it was engulfed in flames.
Footage of the fire obtained by WFTV shows the fire department battling the blaze around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
When it was put out, Maré said the driver took off.
"It was one second here, one second there, gone. Later we saw the car parked on the side of Beach Boulevard,” she said.
