A Florida mother told a court that she robbed three banks within a half-hour span in May to pay for her daughter's graduation party.

Cindy Sanchez Carabeo, 50, from Brandon, Florida, pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of interfering with interstate commerce by robbery, according to Huffington Post.

Carabeo told the judge that she robbed the banks to pay for her daughter's graduation party and to cover her rent. She is facing up to 20 years in prison for the charges.

She robbed a BB&T Bank, a Wells Fargo, and the Florida Central Credit Union, all in Brandon, Florida, and got away with over $6,000, NY Daily News reported.

Within 15 minutes of the robberies, Carabeo was in custody and bank managers were able to identify her.

She was caught when a dye pack exploded and left a trail for police to follow.

According to authorities, Carabeo threatened to kill a teller, but wrote "Happy Mother's Day" on the hold-up note.
