An Orlando, Florida, woman was arrested on Aug. 16 after her twin toddler sons were found near a lake while she was allegedly out partying (video below).
Kiria Ferris, 29, was charged with two counts of child neglect when neighbors noticed her 2-year-old sons playing near a lake in the rain, reports WFTV.
Ferris' neighbors Carlin Rogers and Rita Charles spotted the two children, one of them half-naked, and recognized them as Ferris' boys.
According to an arrest affidavit, the neighbors went to Ferris' apartment to see if she was home. The front door was open, but the doorway was blocked by a piece of plywood and two children's bicycles. All three bedroom doors in the apartment were reportedly locked.
Ferris told her neighbors she was on her way home from work, but according to investigators, she later said she left the boys at the apartment while she was at Margarita Fest with friends.
Inside the apartment, investigators found a soiled diaper and Chlorox toilet bowl cleaner on the floor.
The boys are currently in the care of their grandmother.
