Florida Mom Allegedly Leaves 8-Year-Old In Car To Drink At Local Bar

Florida woman Krastina Yankova Gesheva now faces a DUI and a charge of child neglect after she reportedly left her 8-year-old in the car to drink at a nearby bar.

Gesheva’s 8-year-old son apparently went into the Tryst Lounge, a St. Petersburg bar, several times during the night to look for his mother, according to local police.

Gesehva left her son alone in her 2010 silver Mercedes for four hours before she left the bar around 3 a.m. When she tried to drive out of the parking lot, she backed into two cars.

A crowd had gathered and Gesheva was visibly impaired by the time police arrived. The 36-year-old’s blood alcohol level was 0.177, more than twice the level at which Florida law presumes impairment.

The 8-year-old, who was sitting in the back seat of the car when police arrived, was released to a guardian.

Gesheva was taken to the Pinellas County jail, where she was released Monday afternoon after posting bail for $10,500.

It’s unclear whether or not Gesheva has retained an attorney.

In May, a Pennsylvania mother was charged with child neglect in a similar case. The unnamed woman was charged after leaving her 3-year-old and 5-year-old children at home alone on Mother’s Day to drink at a local bar.
