A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly beat two dogs with a sledgehammer.
Polk County deputies said an anonymous tip led them to Tad Whitworth, FOX 13 reports. The 49-year-old was taken into custody on Oct. 17.
Whitworth allegedly beat two Labrador retrievers, Tupac and Bella, with a sledgehammer on Oct. 9, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The dogs, who reportedly belong to Whitworth's girlfriend, Kimberly Stone, suffered gashes and puncture wounds.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Carrie Horstman told the Orlando Sentinel the dogs were in poor health but treated for their injuries.

The medical director at the SPCA of Florida told FOX 13 neither dog suffered any significant fractures.
According to investigators, Stone asked Whitworth to euthanize the dogs. Whitworth then allegedly bludgeoned them with a hammer.
Whitworth was charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Deputies are investigating Stone's involvement in the crime and may press charges.
