A shooting in Tarpon Springs, Fla., has left one police officer dead.

According to USA Today, police were called in for a noise ordinance complaint at around 3:00 a.m. A man was said to have been loudly banging on people’s doors.

When the officers arrived to the Tarpon Springs apartment complex, they reportedly confronted the man in question, who allegedly then opened fire on one of the officers. The officer was fatally injured.
