Father Says He Walked In On Teacher Raping His 5-Year-Old Daughter

| by Amanda Andrade-Rhoades

A father says he walked into his 5-year-old daughter’s classroom on June 5 at Kid’s Country, a day care center in Normandy Park, Washington, and found a 31-year-old male teacher crouched behind a bookshelf with the girl. Though the teacher reportedly explained they were having a “tickle fight,” the girl later told her father the man touched her inappropriately.

The father, who has not been identified, called Child Protective Services.

The girl, who was described as bright and articulate, allegedly told Child Protective Services that the teacher raped her. Q13 Fox News reported that police interviewed the teacher, who claimed he accidentally touched the girl under her underwear.

Though the unnamed teacher has not been charged with a crime, he was arrested and booked into King County Jail. It is expected that he’ll be charged with first-degree child rape.

Jeff Langston, the owner of Kid’s Country, said he couldn’t comment when asked if the accused teacher had been fired because the investigation is ongoing. “We’re still waiting to hear back from the police and child protective services,” he said during a phone interview.
