A Saudi man was arrested after being caught driving his car while his son was inside the trunk of the vehicle, reports the Mirror (video below).
The man was caught after another driver saw a foot hanging out of the trunk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and reported it to police.
The dash-cam footage of the incident shows the boy’s foot hanging out of the trunk while his father drives along.
The man was arrested and faces charges of negligence as well as endangering the life of a person, according to Al Marsad, a Saudi news site.
The clip was uploaded into YouTube on July 13 and has since garnered over 82,000 views.
Authorities in the country are planning to install advanced traffic cameras capable of recognizing license plates.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says that from 1982 to 2003, 96 deaths were attributed to people riding in the trunks of vehicles.
According to KidsAndCars.org, at least 260 people have died in incidents involving being trapped in the trunk of a car since 1970, 37 of whom were 14 or younger.
