By the time paramedics arrived, Bradford was no longer responsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family believes Bradford was murdered by a man she met on Facebook, who they say is mentally ill and has a criminal history of violence against women, Fox 2 News notes. They also believe he might have been caught entering and exiting the apartment complex on surveillance video.

“We didn't know this until everybody started posting things on Facebook about him,” Yolanda Seay, the victim’s mother, told Fox 2 News. “They say they know he did this. We know he did this, my daughter is killed. My daughter is murdered because of this.”

Major case detectives took video from the surveillance cameras within the apartment complex and are currently investigating, according to the family. The Ferguson Police Department has not yet commented on the case.

The victim's family says Bradford was an aspiring nurser and the mother of a 6-year-old girl. They added that they are glad the little girl was not home when the incident occurred.
