A Nebraska father is seeking help in the search for his 3-year-old daughter after police told him they will not issue an Amber Alert.
Kollin Rawls, from Lincoln, Nebraska, hasn’t seen his daughter in two weeks. Neither his 3-year-old daughter, Kadaisha Rawls, or her mother, Monique Ramos, have been seen since Jan. 13.
Rawls has temporary custody of Kadaisha and the last time he saw her, he was dropping her off at her mother’s house for visitation.
The father filed a missing persons report with local police, who are currently investigating the case. Rawls was told that because his daughter was last seen with her mother, they will not issue an Amber Alert.

“I don’t understand the difference in my situation and their situations where there’s an Amber Alert,” Rawls told 10/11 News, reports WOWT.
According to Lincoln Police Chief Jim Peschong, for an Amber Alert to be issued, there must be “some information that someone’s life may be in jeopardy, that we have an abduction that it appears that someone’s welfare is actually at risk.” Nebraska State Patrol says that an Amber Alert cannot be issued in runaway or child custody scenarios.
Rawls posted about his daughter’s situation on his Facebook page on Jan. 18, claiming in the post that Ramos has a warrant out for her arrest and “actively uses methamphetamine.”

Court documents confirm that there is a warrant out for Ramos’ arrest and that there is a court order for the immediate return of Kadaisha.
“The night before I last seen my daughter she told me that her mom wasn’t going to give her back to me if I took her there and my 3 year old was right,” Rawls wrote on his Facebook page. “My heart is broken, HELP ME PLEASE!”
Lincoln police said they are continuing to follow any leads that come their way.
