Deandre Devon Davis-Williams Arrested for Allegedly Raping, Impregnating 11-Year-Old Girl
An 11-year-old girl in Houston recently found out that she was seven months pregnant after reportedly being sexually abused by her 21-year-old neighbor.
Deandre Devon Davis-Williams has been arrested and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to Harris County Jail records. Investigators said that Davis-Williams lives across the street from the victim and came over to her house every day when she got home from school. (Her mother wasn't home because she works two jobs.)
Prosecutors say Davis-Williams abused the girl from early June of 2012 until early January of this year.
The girl told authorities about what happened after the school alerted her mother that they thought she was pregnant. The girl’s mother then took her to the doctor and found out that she was seven months along.
Evidently, Davis-Williams was communicating with the girl via text messages. After she told authorities about the attacks, he texted her asking why she told on him and that he was going to kill himself.
Houston police have had trouble interviewing Davis-Williams, who even failed to show up to a pre-scheduled appointment. Police finally arrested him on Tuesday and seized the girl’s cell phone to record all of the text message conversations between she and Davis-Williams.
According to Sara Marie Kinney, a spokesperson at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the baby will be delivered on Thursday via a Caesarean section.
