Street performer Damon Torres, dressed as Nintendo’s 'Super Mario,' was arrested in New York’s Times Square on Wednesday night after a 58-year-old woman claimed that the character grabbed her.
The woman told a Times Square security guard that she had a problem with the Super Mario character, reports the New York Daily News. The security guard reported Torres to police.
The guard, who wouldn’t identify himself, told the New York Daily News: “He walked up to her and touched her private parts. She said she had similar encounters with the character. She said she was offended.”

Torres, who works for tips, also faces a charge relating to possession of marijuana.
