The Daiya bar in Yokohama City, Japan has admitted to serving beer to young girls and not checking their IDs.

A member of the bar staff said: “We kind of knew they were kids, but didn’t bother checking their IDs,” reported,

The drinking incident occurred back on January 6, but police filed charges with prosecutors on April 24.

Earlier in the evening, the girls, ages 12 to 15, were caught by police while shoplifting a bottle of booze.

Police noticed the girls had already been drinking and asked them where they had previously gotten alcohol.

The young ladies spilled the beans and told the police that “rumors had been spreading about a pub in Yokohama that would even serve alcohol to kids,” reported
