Michael and Lara Chase were babysitting a 13-month-old girl in Cambridgeshire, England, when they allegedly sexually abused the toddler and photographed the assault.

Michael, 52, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and possession of indecent and extreme images in November 2015, but his wife denied her charges, Mirror.co.uk reported. On March 7, Lara, 46, was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault and the distribution of indecent images that Michael had already admitted taking, according to Peterborough Telegraph.

Lara said in court that she didn’t know that her husband was a pedophile and that she would like to see him “hung, drawn and quartered.” However, prosecutor Sally Hobson asked if she noticed her husband taking the photos with the flash on while they were all in the same room.

Lara denied knowledge of the photos, which were described as extremely graphic and showed Michael sexually assaulting the child, but a jury at Peterborough Crown Court decided that she had assisted her husband in the assault.

The Chases will be sentenced on March 11, and the investigators involved with the case said they were satisfied with the guilty verdict.

"I am pleased that the family of the victim in this case have received justice for what can only be described as every parent's worst nightmare,” Det. Constable Lloyd Metselaar from Cambridgeshire Police said.

“The appalling acts committed together by both Mr and Mrs Chase on such a young child, who had been entrusted in their care, demonstrate the most serious breach of trust.

"This case demonstrates the determination and dedication of Cambridgeshire's specially trained officers who will bring to justice anyone involved in targeting the most vulnerable of society.”

It’s unclear when exactly the assault occurred or how old the victim is now.
