A Secret Service agent surrendered to police after allegedly sending a photo of his penis to a police officer he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

Lee Robert Moore, 37, used a dating app to find the "girl," then took the exchange to Kik, a smartphone app that lets users chat while sending images and videos to each other, Delaware State Police allege according to The Associated Press.

Moore is accused of conducting a sexually explicit chat with the detective posing as a girl while he was on duty. The online relationship started in August and continued through October, police said.

"Work sucks today," Moore wrote while he was posted at a White House entrance to check IDs, AP reported.

Moore surrendered to state police on Nov. 9, and admitted sending a photo of his erect penis, police told AP. That was a day after he was placed on leave by the Secret Service, had his security clearance revoked and was instructed to contact police.

The Secret Service agent was caught up in a sting by the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, a unit created by the late Attorney General Beau Biden, Vice President Joe Biden's son. The unit's work has resulted in more than 150 convictions, according to the state.

Moore, a married father of two, tried to take the online chats to the physical world, cops allege, when he suggested they meet up at a park near Dover Air Force Base, near Dover, Delaware. Chat transcripts show Moore was concerned about the identity of his chat partner.

"Do you know how many fake female profiles are out there, a guy needs some reassurance that he is talking to who he thinks he is talking to, and not, I shudder to think," Moore wrote, according to CNN. That's when a female state trooper took on the role of the girl, police said.

Moore's arrest follows a series of high-profile scandals involving the Secret Service. In 2012, more than a dozen agents were involved in a scandal that involved hiring prostitutes during a presidential trip to Colombia. In October 2014, a knife-wielding man jumped the perimeter fence and was able to get inside the White House before agents stopped him. That led to the resignation of Julia Pierson, the Secret Service director, and a new set of guidelines aimed at preventing similar security lapses.

Moore was charged in state court with transferring obscene material to a minor, and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted, according to AP.
