Police in Philadelphia are searching for the person responsible for spray-painting “Cop Lives Don’t Matter” on a fence located along Baltimore Avenue.
Two other locations around West Philly were tagged with similar phrases, with one being sprayed on a church and the other along the side of a building. The phrase written on the church reads “F**K COPS,” while the other says “PPD Killed Brandon Tate-Brown.”
The third phrase references last week’s shooting of 26-year-old Brandon Tate-Brown, who was killed by police last week after an altercation that occurred after officers pulled him over for a traffic violation. Soon after pulling the young man over, police asked Tate-Brown to exit his vehicle after they saw what appeared to be a handgun in the console.

“Totally visible, it’s the butt of a gun that’s actually in the console between the passenger seat, kind of stuck down the middle between the console and the passenger seat,” Police Captain George Fuchs said.
According to CBS Local News, when Tate-Brown got out of his car, “struggle ensued between him and the officers.” Tate-Brown allegedly made his way back into his car and began to reach for his gun, prompting one of the officers to fire his weapon at the suspect’s head.
Brandon Tate-Brown reportedly had a prior criminal record that included charges for attempted murder and theft.
This weekend, two NYPD officers, Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, were ambushed and murdered by 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley in a reported attempt to avenge the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown.
