Surveillance video has been released of a shooting at a courthouse in Arkansas earlier this month that left two people injured and the gunman dead.
The video shows James Palmer walking into a judge's office at the Crawford County courthouse on September 13 with his assault rifle at the ready. When told the judge was not in, he opened fire, hitting a court worker. The worker survived the shooting.
Palmer then walked out of the office and outside where he engaged officers. He was shot and killed. One cop was hit with bullet fragments.
Along with the release of the video came the results of an investigation that determined the officers were justified in using deadly force.
"The officers were defending themselves and others from the use or imminent use of deadly physical force by James Palmer," Crawford County prosecutor Marc McCune wrote.
