WCBS TV news anchor Rob Morrison allegedly choked his wife during an altercation at their Connecticut home early Sunday. Following his arrest, he then purportedly threatened her again.
According to the New York Daily News, police officers responded to Morrison’s residence early Sunday morning when his mother-in-law phoned in a domestic dispute. At the scene, cops found his wife, Ashley, with ‘red marks’ around her neck and Morrison with blood dripping from his face. The latter ended up getting charged on a felony count.
One day later, the couple released this statement through their attorneys: “The Morrisons are confident that a full review of this matter will show that the allegations have been greatly exaggerated. While this matter is being addressed, Rob and Ashley hope that their family’s privacy will be respected.”
According to reports, Morrison choked his wife “by the neck with both hands” and “made verbal threads to do his wife additional harm” during the booking process.
Ashley’s mother, the person who apparently made the 911 call, refused to offer any insight on what transpired.
“I have no comment,” she said.
Morrison was ultimately released from jail on a $100,000 bond. He was charged with second-degree strangulation as well as misdemeanor threatening and disorderly conduct, and will appear before a judge on Tuesday.
