A man wanted for the horrifying beating and abduction of a woman in the lobby of a New Orleans hotel on Friday turned himself in to police on Saturday.

Elvin Terrell, 35, was caught on tape by the surveillance camera at the Loyola Avenue Holiday Inn attacking, beating, and then dragging an unconscious woman into his car.

"About 5:30 p.m. Terrell walked into Orleans Parish Prison and turned himself in," NOPD spokesman Frank Robertson told the Times-Picayune on Saturday. "He has been charged with one count of domestic second-degree battery, one count of domestic kidnapping, child desertion, child endangering and cruelty to a juvenile."

In the video, Terrell attacks a woman in the lobby of the hotel and drags her outside. No one intervenes.

Outside, a blonde woman approaches, as Terrell sits on top of the victim and strikes her. Unconscious, Terrell climbs off of her nody and goes back into the lobby of Holiday Inn to retrieve what could be the victim’s purse. A hotel employee stands behind the desk and appears to do nothing.

Terrell comes back outside and picks up the unconscious victim. At first he begins to drag her to the blonde woman’s red SUV, then he changes his mind and puts her in the back seat of his gray sedan.

Police later found a 6-year-old boy abandoned in a hotel room that was booked by one of the suspects. He is now in protective custody, and police are trying to locate his mother.
