A high-speed pursuit came to a deadly end when deputies in Southern California shot the suspect from a helicopter.
The San Bernardino high-speed pursuit began when deputies tried to pull over a man suspected in a home invasion, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputy Olivia Bozek told BuzzFeed News.
The suspect refused to pull over and began driving speeds of more than 100 mph through San Bernardino and Fontana.
The suspect made his way to the 215 freeway where he entered the wrong way, driving against the direction of traffic. He jumped out of his moving SUV and fled on foot, as the car continued to move, crashing into another vehicle.

A deputy in a Sheriff’s department helicopter shot the suspect from overhead in order to avoid further injury to people in the area.
According to images captured at the scene showing bullet holes in the SUV, shots may have been fired before the suspect jumped out of the vehicle. Sheriff’s officials would not confirm whether or not that happened.
