not so much because of the content of the polemic itself, content that (be warned) is hostile towards paedophilia and homosexuality, but because of the other content that the hostile polemic links to and quotes, much of it written by the prominent British political figure being accused of hypocrisy, Peter Tatchell, who is a long-time champion of the rights of homosexual people, and also (though this is less well-known) the rights of children to have sex with adults if they want to.

I think the more you study something from your point of view the more you find backs up your prejudices. It's not difficult to understand that the natural instinct of human beings is to procreate the species. Perversion is when the instinct takes over the intellect. Homosexuality and pedophilia are both counterproductive to the proliferation of the human species. One because anatomically males need females to reproduce. The other cannot produce offspring do to undeveloped reproductive organs (if pre-adolescent). For those that are post adolescent? What is the true age of consent? 13 year old men and women where brought together in union doing the trek westward to ensure the proliferation of the species. It really comes down to this how far is political correctness necessary in this modern era? Pedophiles will continue to be pedophiles whether they carry out the act is what society cares about. Or does the liberal left want mind and thought control? The same type of mind policing they claim the religious right tries to use on "sinners".

John Allman He RETRACTED his confession, meaning he had already confessed. The man is guilty and you have been supporting false Gods in backing these guys.

Why is it so hard to stop the sexual abuse of American children? These statistics give us some clues:

*Four data sets (the FBI’s UCR arrests, State felony court convictions, prison admissions, and the National Crime Victimization Survey) all point to a sex offender who is older than other violent offenders, generally in his early 30′s, and more likely to be white than other violent offenders. *While nearly 70% of those serving time for violent crimes against children were white, whites accounted for 40% of those imprisoned for violent crimes against adults. *3 in 4 child victims of sexual assault were female. *Of teachers convicted nearly 54% of abusers who resigned, weren’t rehired, retired, or were terminated, superintendents reported that 16% were teaching in other schools and that they didn’t know what had happened to the other 84%. All but 1% of these teachers retained their teaching license. *--Pediphiles have a preference for prepubescent children as sexual partners. Heterosexuals are just as likely as homosexuals to be pediphiles. Some pediphiles have no gender preference. * -Only 3% of pediphiles are female.

In the US this crime is primarily committed by heterosexual, white males over age 30 who have no previous criminal records. Until voters & lawmakers know what this crime is, who is likely to commit it, and that sexual preference is not curable, it isn't likely we will get the laws or criminal sentences we need to protect our current or future generations of children.

Considering that so many of those who get out in front bashing homosexuality are secretly homosexual, is there an analogous phenomenon regarding people who are the most outraged by pedophilia?

When OJ Simpson was on trial for the alleged murder of which he was eventually found not guilty, opinion polls were taken to find out whether people thought he would be convicted or acquitted. It turned out that whether those who were rash enough to guess beforehand what the jury's verdict would be, were significantly more likely to guess that OJ would be convicted if they were white, and significantly less likely to guess that OJ would be acquitted if they were black.

In the present case, I would predict that the prejudices of those rash enough to prejudge this case will bear a similar relationship, not this time to the race of those making pre-judgments, but to their approval or disapproval of the kind of church the accused attended, and of his reported attitude towards homosexuality.

Why am I not surprised by this?

When I hear of sexual predators/pedophiles being caught, it's usually withing a week/month of when they first start doing that sort of thing. But if they have a strong religious affiliation, then we tend to see a duration like this guy - who has been abusing children for over 30 years.

What is it about churches that enables child molesters so efficiently?
