A Brooklyn teenager saved his mother from being raped by a drunk man on the night of March 25, the New York Post reported.
Police said the suspect tried to start a conversation with the 36-year-old woman at a bodega around 11:30 p.m. She walked away, but he followed her to the apartment building where she lived. He then told her he knew people who lived there, so she let him inside. The man reportedly reeked of alcohol.
In the hallway outside the woman's apartment, the man punched her in the face and then ripped off her clothes. She screamed for help.
“He threw her down the stairs to the third floor,” a neighbor said. “Then he dragged her down to the second floor. As he was dragging her, he was trying to pull her jeans down.”
The woman's 16-year-old son came to his mother's aid, and the attacker ran off.
The suspect has not been identified or aprehended.
The woman refused medical attention.
The suspect was described by witnesses as a 6-foot-3 male weighing more than 200 pounds. He was wearing a yellow hat with a logo, a blue and orange jacket, and blue jeans.
