Pennsylvania man Gregorio Orrostieta faces homicide charges following the death of his girlfriend, who was found dead outside her university dorm room.
According to police, 19-year-old Orrostieta and his 18-year-old girlfriend Karlie Hall were in a physical spat prior to her death on Sunday at Millersville University. Orrostieta was covered in blood and attempting CPR when police arrived around 5:20 a.m.
According to Orrostieta, the two had argued at a party just hours earlier and Hall had hit him. Following the fight, the two had made up and returned to the dorm around 1:30 a.m.
Orrostieta admitted to shoving Hall, which caused her to fall and hit her head on a chair. He then gave her a “back hand” to the face, which caused her to become unresponsive.

An autopsy conducted on Monday revealed that Hall had died due to multiple traumatic injuries related to beating and strangulation. Orrostieta never mentioned strangulation in his discussion with authorities, which led police to believe the assault was more brutal than the 19-year-old had admitted. Authorities added that Orrostieta waited several hours to inform police about Hall’s death and attempted to cover it up.
Orrostieta is currently being held on $1.5 million bail.
Hall was a freshman at Millersville University. The principal of Unionville High School, where Hall graduated from, described the 18-year-old as a good student who often volunteered at an animal shelter.
