The widow of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing, could be facing charges related to the domestic terror attack on April 15, 2013.
Katherine Russell is suspected of accompanying her husband to Macy’s two months before the bombing and buying five pressure cookers. Two of the cookers were allegedly used to make bombs.
“To live in a small apartment and buy five pressure cookers and have all those explosives obviously just does not make sense — something other than cooking was going on,” said former FBI special agent and ABC News consultant Brad Garrett.
Although Russell has not been charged with anything, an unnamed senior law enforcement official told ABC News she could face charges such as misprision of a felony or failing to notify authorities of a crime about to happen.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in a police shootout three days after the Boston Marathon bombing and his younger brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is currently on trial for his role. Three people were killed and 260 were injured in a series of blasts.
After her husband was identified as a suspect, Russell’s attorney, Miriam Weizenbaum, said in statement that her client was cooperating with the investigation and unaware of the bomb plot.
"As a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife, Katie deeply mourns the pain and loss to innocent victims, students, law enforcement officers, families and our community,” said Wizenbaum in her statement.
