PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley appeared on the Fox News show 'The O'Reilly Factor' tonight and traded barbs with the acidic host over the George Zimmerman case.

Smiley started off with the lack of empathy of that Fox News showed for the death of Trayvon Martin in comparison to the enormous outpouring of sympathy for the children killed at the Sandy Hook school massacre.

Smiley also insisted there was "contempt" for black men in America, noted Mediaite.com (video below).

“America doesn’t have contempt. That’s wrong, it’s fallacious. You can't back it up!” responded Bill O'Reilly.

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

"I'll back it up," said Smiley. "I said already that black men are viewed so often in this country as a menace to society, number one. Number two look at the over-criminalization of black boys... Number three, look at the racist drug laws. You gotta get caught with more crack than pot or cocaine to get the same sentence. Look at the high unemployment numbers in this country with specific regard to African-American men."

O’Reilly later shot back: "There is genocide in Chicago. It's blacks killing blacks, whites have nothing to do with it. I don't believe America has contempt for black men. I believe a lot of the problems are generated by blacks themselves. They won't solve the problems of their neighborhoods."

Smiley later brought up gun control and said: “Arm every black person in America, and then let’s see what the NRA has to say.”
