A man was fatally shot in Fort Worth, Tex., Tuesday afternoon, when he allegedly tried to steal a cell phone from another man after they made an agreement on Craigslist.

Police found 20-year-old Desmond Paige dead from multiple gunshot wounds outside a Metro PCS store, around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The man Paige allegedly tried to rob, who had a conceal-carry gun permit, had also been shot. It is unclear whether Paige shot him or if he accidently shot himself. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with a non-threatening gunshot wound.

The two men allegedly arranged to meet after making a deal for the cell phone on Craigslist, police said. It is not clear which one posted the ad.

A similar crime involving Craigslist occurred in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas on Mar. 2, when a 22-year-old man made a deal to buy an iPhone. The unidentified man met the seller at an Outback Steakhouse at 6 p.m. He was pistol whipped and robbed of $3,000.
