A Baltimore, Maryland, man shot a 2-year-old when he was trying to kill someone else. Charles Dante Patterson, 31, is now facing 90 years in prison.

Provoked by a family dispute, Patterson and his brother, Kenneth Brooks, had been following a man on a drive-by shooting spree on March 3, 2014.

Their target was a 19-year-old man who testified against their brother in a robbery case, reports The Baltimore Sun.

According to The Huffington Post, Patterson attempted to shoot into the man’s Dodge minivan, and ended up grazing the head of a 2-year-old girl sitting inside.

The 2-year-old suffered injuries from flying glass and was the only one of the four people inside the car who was injured. She was released from the hospital after being treated.

Both brothers have now been convicted of attempted first-degree murder. Patterson received a 90-year sentence, and Brooks was sentenced to 70 years.
