9 Gang Members Charged in Gang Rape of 14-Year-Old

| by Michael Allen

Nine suspected gang members in Minnesota are charged with a brutal crime -- the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl.

The St. Paul Star Tribune reports that the incident happened last November. Mang Yang, 24, picked up the girl and her friend from school and took them to parties at two houses. At the second party the girl recognized several men thought to be members of the gang True Blood (TB22).

She said she tried to leave, but they wouldn't let her, carrying her into a bedroom and throwing her on a mattress on the ground. She said at least two of the men raped her. It would have been far worse but someone yelled "police" and everybody ran off.

Of the nine men charged, four are juveniles. They are all charged with aiding and abetting first-degree sexual conduct, conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual conduct, kidnapping someone under age 16, and committing a crime for the benefit of a gang.

They are all believed to be associated with TB22.

Yang, who is among the adults facing charges, reportedly told police that he knew that the girl was going to be raped. He said it "is the gang's intent every time they get girls to a party with them to get them drunk and rape them."
