4 Arrested For Kidnapping And Beating After Victim Escapes Kansas Home

| by Brendan Kelly

Four people were arrested in Lawrence, Kansas, earlier this week when a woman they kidnapped and beat for several days escaped.

The victim told police that she made an escape from the house she was held captive in when the suspects left late on Tuesday night and went to a relative’s home.

Lawrence Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Trent McKinley said the woman had “visible, serious injuries to her face and other areas of her body.”

She was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The woman’s injuries happened over several days. Police said that the four suspects tied the victim down and beat her.

Christopher Fast, 26, Chelsea Adams, 23, and Tabatha Mallory, 25, were charged with aggravated battery and aggravated kidnapping on Wednesday. Anthony Thomas, 29, was also charged with aggravated battery.

Thomas is being held on a $15,000 bail bond, while the other suspects are each being held on $150,000 bonds.

At the hearing on Friday, Mallory admitted to being guilty and told the judge she would not be asking for bond because she is on disability and cannot afford it.

She told the judge, “I understand what I did was wrong,” before being interrupted.

All suspects are due back in court on June 29.
