Two New York City Police Department officers were shot on Saturday afternoon.

According to the New York Daily News, the NYPD officers were sitting in their marked vehicle when they were suddenly ambushed.

“The perp came out of the houses, walked up behind the car and lit them up,” a source told the NY Daily News.

It is being reported that four witnesses saw what happened and provided nearly identical accounts to officials.
