Two Dead In College Shooting Near Dallas

Two people are confirmed dead in a shooting at North Lake College in Irving, Texas, near Dallas, and now, police have revealed that one of the deceased is the shooter.

North Lake College police confirmed shots were fired on the campus in Irving around 11:45 a.m. May 3. The school officially went on lockdown for some time as officers searched for the shooter around campus.

Police have now confirmed via tweet that the shooter is dead and also that there doesn't appear to be any continuing threat. Still, officers will keep searching campus. According to The Dallas Morning News, the shooter was found dead of a bullet wound in a locker room shower stall. They believe the wound to be self-inflicted. 

"It sounded just like gunshots," Dani, a North Lake student, told KXAS. "We heard the first one and thought somebody dropped something ... but then it just kept going and everybody just started running. The only thing that went through my mind was just to run."

Police have asked people to stay away from the campus as they continue their investigation. More details will be released as they come in.
