An 18-year-old Pennsylvania man has been charged with allegedly raping a 6-year-old child and streaming footage of the act on the Internet.
Police said federal authorities in Toronto, Canada, discovered the live video on Thursday, July 23. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security tracked the source, and Cumberland County police charged William C. Byers Augusta, 18, of North Middleton Township.
After the source of the video was tracked to Augusta’s home computer, North Middleton Township Police were contacted and obtained a search warrant for the home, FOX 43 reported.
Charging documents state that when authorities searched the home Thursday, they found items in Augusta’s bedroom identical to those seen in the video of the alleged sex act. A laptop containing numerous videos of child sex abuse was also seized from the bedroom, ABC 27 reported. When it was discovered, the laptop was reportedly positioned for the webcam to produce the same camera angle as that seen in the video.
