A 13-year-old boy is being hailed a hero for reportedly saving his 4-year-old sister from a kidnapper.

According to reports, 61-year-old Earl Williams of Lancaster, California, was seen pacing outside of a home before approaching the young girl. Reports say that Williams crouched down to introduce himself to the 4-year-old, grabbed her hand, and started to walk away with her.

Thankfully, the girl’s 13-year-old brother quickly intervened and was able to grab hold of his sister’s arm while yelling for someone to call 911. Police later caught up with the suspect roaming through the same neighborhood and immediately took him into custody.

“It's a kidnapping charge, not attempted, because he actually picked her up and walked away with her,” Sgt. Eric Metten said.

Williams is currently being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court this week.
