A 13-year-old boy from Chicago was reportedly shot several times and killed while videotaping a fight between multiple girls on his cell phone.

Anthony Diaz was allegedly recording the fight in the Belmont Central neighborhood on Sunday night at around 10:30 p.m. when police say someone shot him several times, reports WGN-TV. One of the bullets reportedly hit him in the side and at least one bullet exited his chest.

Police reportedly recovered four shell casings at the scene of the crime.

Diaz’s stepfather, Ralph Otero, says the boy was a good kid who loved basketball, and not a gang member. Diaz and his sisters, ages 15 and 17, reportedly snuck out of the house to confront someone about a Facebook post.
