A 12-year-old U.K. girl fought off an alleged kidnapper as she was walking home from school. Police said that the girl punched the man in the face and managed to run home to safety.

The incident happened in Sale, Greater Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police released a sketch incorporating physical traits of the man as described by the girl. Detective Constable Dan Hayes said, “This young girl has been very brave and worked with our forensic imaging specialists to relive what she went through and produce an accurate image of what he looked like.”

He continued: “I would ask people to look carefully at this image and if you do recognize this man, or see him hanging around the area, please call us. We do not know what this man's intentions were and that is why we are taking this incident very seriously and doing all we can to apprehend this man.”

According to police, the girl was walking home at about 4 p.m. on March 25 when the man grabbed her arm. As she tried to get away, he gripped it harder.
