An 11-year-old student in York, South Carolina has been charged with assault and battery after a school bus fight was caught on surveillance video.

According to reports, the video shows the 11-year-old student from York Intermediate School strike another 11-year-old boy twice in the neck and the head. Apparently, two 12-year-olds were trying to get the 11-year-old victim to hit the attacker, but he refused. Even the attacker himself was trying to get to victim to hit him, but he wouldn’t, so that’s when the suspect attacked.

Reports also say that surveillance video shows the assailant and the two 12-year-olds shaking hands after the attack. They apparently also shake hands with the victim.

Now, the 11-year-old student has been arrested and charged, but he claims that he only hit the victim because the victim had been bullying his younger brother. It’s not yet known what the consequences for the young student will be, but school officials say that the two 12-year-old boys will disciplined by school for their connection to the assault.
