Couple Reportedly Overdoses In Front Of Two Young Girls

| by Amanda Andrade-Rhoades

Two sisters, ages 3 and 5, were found in a motel in Troy, Missouri, on Saturday while their father and his girlfriend reportedly overdosed on prescription drugs.

Police said Jesse George Bass, 40, and Michelle Dundee, 33, were transported to Mercy Medical Center in Troy for medical treatment before being taken to Lincoln County Jail, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The pair are currently facing child endangerment charges.

Emergency services were summoned to the motel room when one of the children told another guest that her dad was sick and required aid, Fox 2 reported. Both Bass and Dundee were unconscious — Bass was on the floor and Dundee was on the bed, according to court records.

Detective Tony Stewart said prescription pill bottles were found on the table and dresser, well within the reach of the children. The girls are now in the custody the Missouri Children's Division.
