Several social media users are outraged with CNN after the network reported that a former President Barack Obama's appointee would become president if President Donald Trump was killed at his inauguration (video below).
The report, titled "Disaster could put Obama appointee in Oval Office," aired on Jan. 18, the Daily Mail reported. It speculated what would happen if Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and Congressional leaders were all killed during the inauguration.
The report stated that a Democrat would take the vice-president's place in the White House in the event of a deadly attack.
Several social media users felt the report could entice anti-Trump supporters and even encourage them to attempt some sort of attack on the inauguration. Others went as far as accusing CNN of hoping for such an attack.

"Totally not suggesting anything here, huh CNN?" one YouTube user commented.
Another YouTube user said she flagged the video for "inciting violence." A third called CNN "disgusting" and "traitorous."
"I flagged this video as dangerous to the president elect, and that it might foment violence," wrote one upset viewer.
"Did the same," wrote another. "CNN wants it to happen. Wouldn't be surprised if they pay someone with cash."

According to the report, if the president and vice president are killed, the position would go down a chain of succession that starts with the speaker of the house and then the president pro tempore of the Senate.
The position would then go down to secretaries of the Cabinet, starting with the Secretary of State. If they were all to be killed, the country would then be leaderless, according to the report.
One secretary is selected to act as the "designated presidential successor." This person is kept away from the ceremony under armed guard. CNN reported that the person selected in this case is an Obama appointee.
The identity of this appointee has not been revealed.
