Naomi Montaie filmed an African-American man, Nandi Cain Jr., being taken down and slugged by a white police officer in Sacramento, California, on April 10 (video below).
Montaie posted the video on her Facebook page where it went viral with over 180,000 views by April 11.
In the video, the officer rushes Cain, takes him down on the concrete and repeatedly hits him as Cain tries to block the blows.
"I never witnessed anything like that," Montaie told KTXL. "He just kept hitting him, he just kept hitting him, and I was like 'Oh my God, why you hitting him like that? Why you hitting him like that? You need to stop hitting him.' And he kept hitting him."

Montaie calls Cain her "nephew" in the video although they are just neighbors in an apartment complex.
Montaie recalled that the police questioned her after the incident, and told her that Cain was being cited for jaywalking.
Cain's live-in girlfriend, Antoinette Stewart, told the news station: "I just want some answers. What happened?"
Stewart said she could picture her beau walking across a street during his long walk home from work, but added that he has never "been to jail, never been arrested, ever."

Sacramento Police Department confirmed that the cop stopped a suspect for illegally crossing, and that the cop was placed on leave, notes KOVR:
The videos of this incident portray actions and behavior that we would consider unacceptable conduct by a Sacramento Police Officer. As a result, the Department’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating the event. This evening, the involved officer has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
Back on Montaie's Facebook page, commenters were outraged by the cop's behavior:
