Caitlyn Jenner Allegedly Slams Ellen DeGeneres

| by Sheena Vasani

Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner allegedly accused talk show host Ellen DeGeneres of alienating her from the LGBTQ community in her memoir, "The Secrets of My Life," which is due for release on April 25.

In 2015, Jenner, 67, recalls DeGeneres -- who is gay and has been married to Portia de Rossi since 2008 -- asking about her changing views on gay marriage during an interview, which Jenner once opposed.

"I’m a traditionalist," Jenner said at the time. "I kind of like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman."

She continued, "I think, like a lot of people on this issue, I have really changed my thinking here to, 'I don’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.'"

Later on for "The Howard Stern Show," DeGeneres called Jenner's comments "confusing,"saying it seemed Jenner still had "judgment about gay people and marriage," reports Us Magazine.

Jenner said she was surprised by DeGeneres' response.

"I am for [gay marriage]," she reportedly writes in clarification. "I did not initially understand why marriage was so important, influenced no doubt by my own personal experience. Now I do, and it’s a wonderful thing to see."

"This discussion further alienated me from members of the LGBTQ community," Jenner reportedly adds. "Ellen’s appearance on 'The Howard Stern Show,' where in my mind she even more emphatically took what I said out of context, made it go viral."

Some took to social media in response to Jenner's accusations.

Many disagreed that DeGeneres alienated Jenner or was in the wrong at all.

"The fact of the matter is she is a trans woman living with a white man's brain and political views," wrote one person on Bravo TV's Facebook post about the feud. "That's fine but you can't blame anybody else for alienating her from the LGBTQ community. You can't expect this community to embrace you when you have views that go against their basic beliefs."

"She needs to take responsibility for her own stuff," added another. "She went around saying she was still a republican knowing they didn't support LGBT community. She's still a conservative white man at heart."

"Always playing the victim," chimed in a third. "Jenner needs to take responsibility and stop pointing fingers. When you say you are against gay marriage and you support a party knowing full well where they stand on the LGBTQ community, you just slit your own throat. On top of that, what has Jenner done for them? Nothing. Got a show on TV to parade her new clothes, shoes, bags, and talk about me, me, me, and Jenner doesn't get why people have such a low opinion? Pathetic just like Kris Jenner and the Kardashian clan."
